4/366 [Lily of the Nile]

Lily of the NilePreview »

The garden is full of clumps of white agapanthus. The blue variety are far more common on the surrounding properties but only the white version has grown in mine. While the severe drought has affected everything the agapanthus seem unruffled and unthirsty. The green foliage looks lush against the rest of the plants and in the early evening the big white flower heads develop a luminosity that is not apparent in the harsh glare of the hot sun.
