5/366 [Battered and chipped]

Battered and chipped

Cleaning out boxes in the garage today brought this little enamel mug out into the light. It’s barely the height of my index finger and it lived in a big blue tin of sugar on the shelf in my grannie’s pantry. This little utensil featured in the making of crunchy biscuits and delicious cakes as well as pouring more of the white crystals into the table bowl so my grandpop could measure out his three teaspoons to sweeten his tea. Grannie always encouraged me to help and I remember how far my little arm had to go down into the tin before my fingers closed around this tiny cup.
