79/366 [Hidden Gem]

Common school

I was running late for an important meeting and not only could not find the street I was supposed to be in but was battling enormous delivery trucks and heavy car traffic in this old, industrialised pocket of the inner suburbs. I finally found a spot and quickly rushed away to the Great Big Corporate Building where I was supposed to be. Returning in a calmer frame of mind and at a far more leisurely pace, the architecture of this building caught my eye. In a tiny, hidden back street of Abbotsford, surrounded by panel shops and gutter hugging parked cars, is this pretty relic of a different age. It took very little imagination to summon up the image of John Puckey, Headmaster, standing at the door as nineteenth century children meandered along the street to school.
