106/366 [Teamwork]

One of my favourite things to do when in Geelong is walk along the arc of Corio Bay from Rippelside Park to Limeburner’s Point and admire the visual narrative documenting local history created by artist Jan Mitchell between 1995 and 1999. Jan created over 100 fabulous characters by painting wooden bollards from a disused pier. There are teams of lifesavers, football players, performers, mayors, sailors and seafarers, Salvation army tin rattlers, clowns, explorers, opera singers and families. Sadly, Jan died of cancer only a few weeks ago but she has left a wonderful legacy to the city she loved and everyone who visits.
