159/366 [Grey day]

Trees

The late afternoon light fades quickly on these shorter days. Grateful for the rain that fell today, even though it barely wet the ground. We have had so little and we need so much. I stand at the lighted window, grateful for the warmth of the central heating vent at my feet, and admire the wonderful shapes the tree branches make against the sky. Only two more weeks till the earth reaches maximum tilt away from the sun giving us our winter solstice before we head back towards summer.

  1. This so reminds me of a day in southeastern Michigan. Can’t believe the solstice is so close.
