River walk

The city of Melbourne was founded on the banks of the Yarra River which winds 242km from Mt Baw Baw to the sea. It has a reputation for being the only river that flows upside down due to it’s brown, muddy colour. This is due to the presence of microscopic particles eroding from the clay soils in the catchment areas upriver. Yet, for all that, when the rowboats are gliding along on a sunny day or you’re walking towards the city on a clear night, the Yarra can be quite magical.

  1. I’m not used to seeing the yarra look that pretty, but I’m also rather envious of your photo taking ability in general- I’m rubbish, by comparison!
