197/366 [Like the first cuckoo, only yellow]

I’ve always seen daffodils as heralding the arrival of spring. Mrs R, a wonderful surrogate nanna, who lived next door when I was a very little girl used to show me the green points of the leaves pushing up between the springy tangle of the buffalo grass and explain how they waited in the dark below ground until the spring sunshine warmed them into life. So the sight of this one outside our family room door this morning brought a smile to my face. The reality is, however, that there are many more cold winter days to come for spring is a good seven weeks away yet.
