299/366 [Sentinels]

It was a hot day. I was heading out to an afternoon of playing with scissors, paper and glue. Not two minutes from where I had to turn off the main road was a proliferation of digging machines and large trucks. One  of the workers held up a large stop sign at the end of a stick and we all formed a queue. Which soon extended nearly a kilometre up the road in both directions. I opened the car window to try to catch a bit of breeze but the dust thrown up by the machinery quickly drifted into the car. So I reluctantly rolled it up again and spent 20 minutes admiring this view. And trying to strangle Little Miss Impatience who was silently screaming.
